#7 a hotel, an avalanche, and a well-trained Saint Bernard
Who doesn't love a good murder mystery?
After three failed attempts to watch the miserably unpleasant "Hard To Be A God", my Strugatsky phase continued with this rough gem which could best be described as weird.
There was a compelling story inside this dated, very Seventies movie and even though the recording was of poor quality, the artistic visuals still stood out. The setting was beautiful and the cinematography made use of the snow and the majestic mountains, especially in the chase and avalanche scenes. The dark, claustrophobic, mysterious interior of the hotel contrasted well with the pristine, white, freedom of the landscape outside. And the plot, though a little slow to get started, unfolded to a surprising end.
