Synopsis
How do you kill something that won't die? Where do you run when they're everywhere?
The government sets up a zombie squad after an epidemic has made the world run rampant with living corpses. The team head off to Ohio to try and find a cure but soon run into a crazy cult of zombie lovers who are set on preserving the walking dead as they believe it's God's will.

Hubo una época (a principios de los 90) en la que todavía éramos pequeños, soñábamos con poder hacer nuestras propias películas y nos entusiasmaba la posibilidad de ver que algunos fans del terror lo conseguían y que lograban estrenar sus subproductos en vídeo. Nos daba envidia, sí, pero también leíamos entre líneas "eh, chicos, vosotros también podéis hacerlo". En ese contexto, 'The Dead Next Door' (conocida en España como 'Mondo Zombie') podría tener su gracia, con su factura totalmente amateur (rodada en Super-8 y luego transferida a vídeo), sus aceptables efectos gore (algunos más conseguidos que otros), sus guiños a Los Grandes (personajes llamados Romero, King, Carpenter, Raimi, etc.), las referencias a las sectas satánicas y sus títulos de crédito…

I don't get the hate, I thought this was hella fun! The acting was terrible, but the actors are so enthusiastic that it becomes charming and adds to its fun-ness.

Saw this at Best Buy and after reading the back of the case, figured it might be a decent movie. I also figured Beta would win out over VHS and that, later, DVDs would never catch on because everyone (else) had their VHS collections. It's not that this is a bad movie - there are some very cool plot elements that, had they been explored further (or, explored at all for that matter) would have made for quite an interesting zombie flick. No, it's not a bad movie. It's a fucking mess of a movie.
