Mandala attempts to return and protect the Devil's Sword after four warriors attempt to steal it. Barry Prima slices and dices his way through absurdity involving crocodile men, lasers, flying guillotines, and old hags. Hysterically nonsensical and featuring the mystifying Indonesian mash-up of kung-fu, magic, and blood and guts, The Devil's Sword is a hoot to watch despite droning on at times.

In an interesting reversal, The Devil's Sword is mostly about the quest of a Princess to rescue her newly-wedded Prince from the evil Crocodile Queen, who demands the sacrifice of young men for her sexual appetites. Mandala, warrior for good, comes to aid this end and fight his former training buddy who's turned evil and all that sort of thing. He must also go on a quest for the mysterious Devil's Sword, as per the title, which is a really powerful weapon forged from a meteorite.
After he gets the sword he will proceed to not use it very much, as is the way with such weapons. See the Glaive from Krull.
That's pretty much all you need to know.…
