So this film was a lot better than I thought it would be because it looked like Attonement redone, but it was acutally quite the opposite of that. It has two beautiful, strong talented ladies in it as well as two great actors. I loved the arc of the characters and the directions of where they went. I knew Dylan Thomas was a real character, but I had no idea the other characters were real as well. It is beautifully shot and the war scenes are done in a very artful way.

An uninspiring tale, lifted by excellent direction and great performances from Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy.
Watched as part of my Six Degrees of Netflix Recommendations project.

Well acted but ultimately dull British drama that was more TV than theatrical.

There's war, drama, crazy people and poetry. Gripping and memorable.

To be honest, pretty much the only time I've heard Welsh accents on film (aside from Torchwood and Gavin & Stacey). That Cillian Murphy is great isn't a surprise. That Keira Knightly and Sienna Miller are as well is.

i rarely like romantic movies, but this one had enough death and destruction to make up for the sappiness. plus, i can't say no to Keira Knightly. Beautifully shot and heaps of Welsh accents!
