This mix of resurrected mummies and hot naked french ladies should have had me reaching for the rewind and button. As it happens Adele Blanc-Sec seems like a bit of bitch who the pterodactyl should have put out of her misery.

Went in to this and thought it was going to be a French Female Indiana Jones...not too far off, a bit more in the realm of fantasy and ridiculous comedy. The adventure is quite far fetched as well, things work out rather well. Saying that it was engaging enough and I would go and see any further adventures of Miss Blanc-Sec however far fetched they might end up.

An extremely enjoyable French fantasy adventure following the colourful, quirky and down right bizarre exploits of Adele Blanc-Sec. Luc Besson's style is a perfect match to the larger than life story and gives credibility and realism to this lovely comic adaption. A whole lot of fun.

A little disjointed but rather fun. Beautiful production design and photography bring a lot to the film, and Besson hasn't lost his touch for building multi-character story lines and situations with wit and panache.

Our very attractive heroine steals a mummy that a scientist must revive to heal her sister who has a hairpin stuck through her head following a freak tennis accident, while also dealing with a pterodactyl - in early 20th century Paris. Very enjoyable, just very French. Bit of tit about an hour in too.

Very amusing and successful adaptation of the Tardi comics. Besson succeeds in creating a feel and atmosphere pretty similar to the orignal 'bandes dessinées'. It all looks very nice and the scenery is just brilliant. Furthermore Louise Bourgoin is perfectly cast.

Just a quick review before I go to bed. This film was extraordinary in every sense. Its random and mad and you can tell it came from a French comic book. Its worth a watch! Cant wait for the sequel!
Also you can always tell a luc besson film. If you like Luc, you will like this!

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec is a French fantasy adventure, a lot like Indiana Jones, but has a woman as the protagonist.
It tells the story of Adele, archeologist, who is trying to save her catatonic sister by finding Rameses' doctor and having a scientist wake him up. The scientist, in the meanwhile, has inadvertently woke up a dinosaur, which is rampaging through Paris, simple?!
The film is directed by Luc Besson who really does have the comedy perfectly timed and the action well paced. He has some fantastic characters, all who have mighty fashioned moustaches, the best of which is Chief Inspector Caponi who reminds me of Droopy a little. It's a just a great adventure and comes highly recommended.
