I'm usually compulsivey scrupulous about logging everything I see on here, but I shan't be doing that with The Gruffalo, even though it is a very fine film indeed.
Why? Because I have a 15 month old son, and he fucking LOVES this. So you don't need to know that I watched it three times today, which is a rough minimum. Your "New From Friends" section would be nothing but Gruffalo. I would be Gruffalo spamming you.
And of course, Gruffalos go far better in crumbles than they do in spam.

It's a cute short with a good moral lesson for kids and some splendid animation, but it's nothing more than that really, and it got on my nerves after a while.

I'm a huge fan of the children's book, and have read it a dozen times to the children in the kindergarten, where I work. They love it, I love it. What's not to love about it?!
So its no denying I was very eager to see this short when I first heard there was a BBC adaptation of it. I sat back, turned up the volume and really enjoyed myself.
The directors have made some really clever grips to make the tale even more enchanting than in the book. The visuals are stunning and proves that you are not in need of a great budget to create brilliant animation. The magical, light and mythical score, in co-operation with the visuals, manages to create an atmospheric mood.
Highly recommended for both kids and adults. A lovely tale!

Simply hypnotic, with a touch of poetry thrown in. The kid was enthralled for the full thirty minutes.

A fair, yet unremarkable little animated short with great animation but a predictable, dry story.

Cute children's movie. Had never heard of this until I was abroad in the UK when I saw the Gruffalo everywhere. When I found a copy of the film I had to give it a watch and I thought it was a really cute story with a good selection of voice actors.
