This marks the second time I've watched a "lifetime movie" all the way through.
This movie is so boring, dude. I only watched it out of some self-imposed obligation. Other wise I wouldn't be caught dead watching one of these wine mom romps. Either way this is where I've decided to take my life. So, let's go through the motions once again!
The story here is definitely the weakest aspect. The dialogue is some of the worst I've heard in a while. There is also way too much filler drama and it never becomes compelling or scary or anything at any point. Even still the movie is bogged down by terribly flat performances and visuals that are just as flat,…
This was very very dumb, but 2000s trash horror is the best, so I enjoyed it.
Oct. 23rd, Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This challenge is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The film streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of bloody films beckoned by the one they call Rich. The accumulated filth of all these films and murderlust will foam up about their eyes and all the cinephiles and Letterboxd trolls will look up and shout "Save us!"... and We’ll look down and whisper "Maybe. What did you think of Moonlight?”
23. Watch any horror movie with "haunting" appearing in the title.
I guess I have a thing for Leighton Meester? Or actresses who look like her? Or maybe she looks like an actress I already have a thing for? All I know is this was trash but everytime she was onscreen I kept rationalizing not turning it off.
“Turns out, Jena Thorne had a MySpace blog.”
People who follow me know that I handle the Lifetime aesthetic better than most. This is one of those that just reeks of it to the point where it becomes a positive. I’d watch this again, for sure. Just a fun direct-to-tv ‘00s teenage haunting film with cheap special effects—it’s got a point to make about wraiths and letting go and being a leader rather than a follower, and it does it all successfully within the boundaries it is given. If you can’t stand Lifetime movies, stay far away.
I'm just now seeing this was a Lifetime movie and everything makes so much more sense.
it turns out jenna thorne had a MySpace blog!
so so so dumb and funny but one of my fave dumb movies
I do really love this movie despite its faults, I just couldn’t give it any higher than this. Half star for leighton meester, half star for the laughs, half star for the female driven story, half star for the ridiculous shower scene that makes me lose my breath laughing every viewing.
