Despite the absolutely godawful soundtrack, irritating narration, long pointless lovelorn conversations that two high school students would never actually have, I didn't totally hate this movie. I struggle to find something good to say about it, other than werewolf fight, but still...it just wasn't the pile of crap I'd expected. It was some other, slightly less offensive smelling pile of crap.

Horror films for teens, eh? There's stuff to like here as generic genre pieces go. A likeable lead, some decent dialogue and one or two nice moments. The problem is its hamstrung by a lack of proper bite. Perhaps this will serve as a gateway film for young teens from the much worse Twilight to something like Elm Street, Carrie or Ginger Snaps.

I've read loads about how bad this film is, but I'm a sucker for werewolf movies good or bad. However, I was very surprised to find that this is not bad, not bad at all.
It's a slick modern take on the classic monster/love story with a fair amount of attention to characters, and an impressive lead in Landon Liboiron, who I had previously seen in the tense airborne horror "Altitude". The movie has a slow pace for the most of it, building up suspense and characters, before moving into top-gear for the final act.
This is a teen-horror monster movie on the surface, but it draws you in with well written and sometimes thought-provoking dialogue, and shies away from…

Nothing near as bad as I expected but it’s certainly nothing great either. The main girl looks nice but unfortunately stays fully clothed at all times despite a couple of teases. The effects are OK when they finally happen. We get a couple of nice looking full werewolf suits though you only see them at the very end of the film. The rest of it has very little wolf action. It sits somewhere in the middle of this overall poor franchise.

I was not expecting this to be great, but I simply was not prepared for this level of bad.

This was so shit that I actually knew I was in for shit but I guess I'm glutton for punishment.

Stagnant, poorly-paced Twi-lite high school werewolf nonsense.

One of the better Howling movies, which may not be saying much in light of howling part 7. Alot of it worked well enough, atleast in a guilty pleasure type way. The leads are fine. The actor who plays the friend SASCHIN? Come on, you can find better actors in the subway, could he have been any more unenthusiastic. My acting in the bathroom mirror tells me I could act circles around this guy. Get the feeling whoever made this has some atheist leanings, it feels a bit preachy in that way to. All in all its not too distracting and I do think they could build on this one.
