This is a bit of a mess, but it's kind of an intriguing mess. The concept is very interesting and different from what you'd find in most movies and David Thewlis is excellent in the title role. Other than that, the film is riddled with plenty of other problems. First of, I didn't buy into Irene Jacob's performance nor her chemistry with Thewlis. Maybe that was the point giving whatever this film was aiming at, but it just didn't work for me. In fact, the film itself just doesn't work for me; the writing to be specific.
