    Mickey Rooney plays a man who confronts life, death, and the great inbetween all with the same operatic resentment that befits a god cast down into somebody's idea of hell. Prison drama plays the chamber drama slow burn for all it's worth for the first hour, and then lets loose the fireworks in the last third.
