Okay, maybe having the final film released months apart wasn't so much a good idea. The end result: No answers to anything, just an ending, no real closure. Yes it is an entertaining film, but in terms of filming, it's clearly evident that more time and focus was spent on Reloaded, than Revolutions.
It just seems a bit rushed that it's already the war and that there wasn't any type of of build up that made you anticipate it and get ready, Almost like, "Hey lets have a war!" The war felt a bit drawn out and at times completely underwhelming, as it isn't what you're probably going to expect. The final fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith was…

I thought the first film was revolutionary, I found the second to be too preachy and obtuse (and ultimately boring), Matrix Revolutions has its head so far up its ass it forgets that it's supposed to be entertaining and instead becomes lost in its heavy-handed metaphors and convoluted plot. Even the CGI is overdone to the point of tedium, the mass of robot sentinels during the attack on Zion become one blurry mess of vomit inducing grey and the mech-suits used by the humans are a total rip-off. I get the impression that the Wachowski's found themselves with a plot they no longer understood, but had invested so much into the trilogy they couldn't back out of their own bull-shit mythos. Now I prefer to watch the original Matrix as a stand-alone film and pretend the sequels never existed.

Initially I walked away feeling short-changed, as did most people, I think. After investing in a trilogy that started so upbeat, Neo showcasing our belief in our God-given superiority, his, and our, righteous anger sweeping aside the upstart machines, we got our deserved ending cruelly ripped away from us. We aren't special; we aren't unique snowflakes; even Neo, the One closest to God-hood amongst us, turned out not to be singular nor all-powerful.
Thinking about it, there are many things to think about: it took a while, but I feel less short-changed now than I did before.

Some people thought The Dark Knight Rises was a rubbish end to a trilogy.

Agent Smith: Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Yes? No? Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's…

I'm having a hard time believing this movie and the other sequel was directed/written by the people who made the 1st film. "The Matrix" was bold and unpredictable, and this film, as well as the 2nd movie, are the complete opposite. Since it is the final film, by virtue it has to provide some closure; it is interesting to see where certain characters end up, and for that it is better than the 2nd movie, which was stagnant. However, the film is simply anticlimactic, even with the closures. I don't think anyone was expecting it to end as it did. Very disappointing...

The worst of the three. Lacks concept.

It's unfortunate that The Matrix Revolutions goes out with a whimper instead of a bang - there isn't even a single impressive action set piece like in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) to elevate this poor movie above tedium. While the story is a little needlessly complex it is also quite possible to follow as long as attention is paid, but the problem here is just that the story isn't particularly interesting. There is a lengthy war about midway through the film which is just messily displayed and devoid of any focal point, resulting in it being very difficult to muster up any sort of feeling beyond observing the flashy special effects - and even they get very boring after a…

You take the sequal
And I'll show you just how much
You can disappoint -
At least they made another movie so all the background characters could have something on their showreels

i liked it.

I put Reloaded and Revolutions in more or less the same realm as the Planet of the Apes sequels. They are entertaining, for the most part, and it's cool to get a deeper look into the respective worlds. However, in both cases, they fail to even compare with the original.

"I know what I have to do..." and that is to re-watch the first film as soon as possible. The majority of the time, the first one always sucks and get better subsequently, and the exception to this is motion pictures.
The Matrix (1999) was amazing. Ground breaking bullet time, the green tint, and awesome Nokia mobile phones that you could only get in Australia unfortunately. Then The Matrix Reloaded (2003) introduced us to Zion and little less bullet time and a little confusing. Now The Matrix Revolutions (2003), no more matrix or bullet time, it is all about Zion and Agent Smith.
I am going to give it 3 stars; because, the visuals are still cool, and some of…
