Being a christian and it being almost Christmas I decided I should see this film adaptation of the Birth of Christ that I have heard every christmas since I was born. I think they did a pretty good job of adapting the birth of Jesus to film. They did a good job of using what people know of the history and the people at the time to bring in things that the Bible didn't go into detail about, such as why Joseph is going to leave Mary cause she is pregnant before marriage. It puts more meat into the story so that, if like me you grew up hearing this story, it's not just a word for word repeat of the gospel. The acting was pretty good too. It's well paced and well thought out. The script is well written. I say worth a watch.

Hardwicke reimagines the nativity. Surely a film that will be played in religious schools around the world.

I don't really understand why this got such low scores from critics. It was a well-done retelling of Mary and Joseph. Good movie for anyone around the holidays who enjoys the story.
