Gondry is in complete control with The Science of Sleep. He wrote and directed this absolute wonder of a film. You can feel his playful energy in every frame, with Gael García Bernal and Charlotte Gainsbourg throwing themselves into Gondry's head and really understanding his vision.
It's filmmakers like Gondry, who when they have total ownership over their material, make you see the pure magic that cinema can provide. Glorious!

This is a very unique movie, visually it's spectacular. The performence's are good aswell as the direction. The movie has alot of dream elements as it mixes dreams with reality, so it's quiet intruging but allmost too pretentious at times. I wasn't amazed by it but I can see why others could be it's intelligent allthough about halfway through the pacing falls short a bit and there were times when I was loosing interest. The ending was beautiful and overall it's a good movie from Micheal Gondry if you like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind your chances of liking this are high but like me you probably wont like it anywhere near as much.

Artistic and highly imaginative visually. I'd have rather got hands on with the science here though and slept for the duration of this! Okay, it's not quite sleep-inducing but I didn't think it was great. Another Gondry film which I found to be very much style over substance. I felt quite the same towards Spotless Mind; it's cute, funny, good and fairly relateable leads but just a bit of a mess on the whole. A shame as the performances here are very good and the stop motion animation sequences are fantastic!

Oh my gosh, what an awesome movie. So many emotions in so little time, not a movie for the faint of heart. Highly recommended though!

I particularly though this was a really boring movie; i hate to hear about other people's dreams, i shoud have guessed i woudn't like this film anyway.

The Science of Sleep tops the overrated Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (from the same director), with affecting characterisations from Gael Garcia Bernal and Charlotte Gainsbourg, great 'homemade' production design and hilarious support from Alain Chabat as the most ridiculous boss on film. The scene where he picks up one of his underlings and puts them in the bin is hysterically funny. Bernal is a graphic artist whose shyness sees him continually retreat into a fantasy world. His vivid dreams start to affect his real life, particularly when he imagines that he's written a confessional letter to neighbour Gainsbourg and must deliver it in the nude. A lovely, uncategorisable film thats emotional intensity and off-kilter sensibility should appeal most acutely to adolescents.

Gondry creates a fantastic world, and amazes you with his incredible ideas. You need to let your fantasy go and "feel" this magnetic movie from the beginning to the end, and it can become an unforgettable experience.

No particularly amazing acting performances but this is a very pretty film.
