Just Because She Likes The Same Bizzaro Crap You Do Doesn't Mean She's Your Soulmate: The Movie
If you've been reading my reviews, you know that sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc come up pretty frequently. You may also know that I am a cishet white man. As the definition of privileged, the person who all these structural inequities cater to, you may wonder why would I want to erode my own privilege in favor of equality? It's the right thing to do, of course, but that's not the only reason. I genuinely believe that my privilege harms me. I staunchly feel that marginalization creates two victims: the one whose dignity is stolen from them and the one who sacrifices their personhood at the altar of gaining that privilege. Yes! Love it :) it's really original, weird, funny, silly, creative and I just love it because it's so different to most movies this day. It's got kinda the same feeling to Eternal Sunshine of the spotlight mind. Michel Gondry is such a creative and original director.
me and the bad bitch i (failed) to pull by listening to tally hall, playing littlebigplanet and being schizophrenic
i’ve never seen a film convey intrusive thoughts better than this
i’ve been rattled by this movie all day. absolutely shaken

Just in time for Valentine's Day I wrote a double feature of this film with Le Notti Biance. READ IT 'N' WEEP! (Literally.) Here's part of that article:
The Science of Sleep is a film about expectations and rejection. Like its main character, the audience is blinded by director Michel Gondry’s fantastical dream sequences and fun inventions into thinking everything could work out for these two crazy kids. But Stéphane is an unreliable narrator, and the love story remains unrequited. It was largely doomed to begin with, as Stéphane’s still reeling from the death of his father and a lonely relocation to a new country. He’s desperate for somebody to rescue him, not only himself but the banality of being…
