This is actually a good movie. Money well spent.

A big, glorious bag of stupid featuring James Marshall and Naomi Watts trying to stop an evil elevator. And I loved every minute of it, as the film doesn't really take much of itself seriously during its running time -- THE SHAFT knows what a dumb film it is and has fun with it.

Amazed to see the budget for this is $15 million. But I won't let that change the fact that I enjoyed this gloriously silly piece of schlock.

Naomi Watts, Michael Ironside and Ron Perlman in a movie about a haunted, killer elevator. Sounds like it would be good, right! WRONG YOU GOT "THE SHAFT." I think the fact Naomi Watts got to play a reporter/journalist in The Ring didn't come from how well she did in Down as a reporter/journalist because she was TERRIBLE in this movie!!!! It's amazing that only a year later she played a reporter and was actually good. Baffling!
