Just amazing. Not having seen Gone Baby Gone or Argo this makes me want to go out and watch them. Plus a great cast who deliver powerful performances from some you wouldn't except like Jon Hamm didn't expect that amazing performance.
Jeremy Renner is just on top of his game, definitely one of his best performances. In this movie Ben shows his talent as director and actor. Rebecca Hall was way better than I expected just from what I have… -
Who forced you to cast Blake Lively? Seriously!

Excellent movie, the action is great, so is the tension, but the more subtle parts of their relationships are just as interesting, the acting is really good and the overall tone works great. Some very interesting scenes like the car chase through small streets and the final shootout pushes suspension of disbelief just the right amount to be interesting.

+ Great Performances, especially by Jeremy Renner
+ Very well done climax
- Lackluster ending
- Not Enough backstory
- didn't care about some plot elements. -
Ich verstehe meine Ben-Affleck-Ablehnung teilweise selbst nicht, aber auch dieser Film langweilte mich schrecklich. Alles so unoriginell, vorhersehbar und gezwungen. Yikes. Ich kann die Begeisterung wirklich nicht nachvollziehen.

Of als we Bostons kingpin Frank Costello ('The departed') mogen parafraseren: you can become cops, or criminals, but when you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference?'. Ben Affleck heeft Costello's credo goed begrepen en vertaalt Chuck Hogans roman 'City of thieves' met visuele…

"These guards like to test you, though. They wanna get hurt for ten dollars an hour, don't get in the way."

It was on TV, so I decided to re-watch what is still a very solid crime drama.
Ben Affleck proved, that his first outing was not just a fluke.
It might have a less fine sensibility than Gone Baby Gone, but there's nothing eminently wrong with sheer entertainment value, and The Town has that in spades. -
Good heist drama. . keeps u on u r toes:-)

A career thief who falls for a woman must question the friendship with his partners in crime. After Gone Baby Gone I wished that Ben Affleck would have made a movie as deep as that one. This is not a bad film but it lacks a certain depth that his previous film had.
