Also known as Return of the Dragon in the U.S. because they hoped people would think it was a sequel to Enter the Dragon as it came State Side after the fact. This was written and directed by Bruce Lee after he had only starred in two major films previously. You can't help but wonder about the films he was planning to do in Hong Kong and Hollywood if his life hadn't been cut short. If nothing else, this movie is known for the most famous martial arts fight scene in the world: Bruce Lee Vs Chuck Norris in the Roman Colosseum.

I like those classic, simple Kung-Fu-Film-stories. It's always about defending your restaurant, tea-house, shop or your whole village.
There are some 1-dimensional villains and you don't know why they are the bad guys or what they exacty want. And this movie had the gay chinese dude before it was cool.
Bruce Lee is badass as always and it's impressive how often elements of his films were copied (e.g. when he kicks the lamp) in other martial arts films. -
Bruce Lee Vs Chuck Norris in Coliseum/Rome including an abandoned kitten to witness how the universe was created...

Following the success of his earlier hard selling films, "Fists of Fury" (The Big Boss) and "The Chinese Connection" (Fist of Fury), Bruce Lee returned in "Return Of The Dragon" or "Way of the Dragon" where he served as scriptwriter, producer, film director and of course the main movie star. ROTD also released after the success of "Enter the Dragon", the film shot several years later. This film is also unique because it was shot in Italy (the first Asian film shot in Europe) and featured Chuck Norris, the trending American action film star who portrayed Colt, a Karate champ who fought Tang Lung. Even though this is clearly an action film, ROTD nevertheless also featured some fresh humor in the forms of Tung's naive and comical traits. I'm sure you're familiar with "Chuck Norris kicks ass" but have you all seen Chuck Norris' ass been kicked? Then this is for you to see. Beware of Nunchaku swings.

Far more of a broad comedy than I expected, most of which doesn't really work, but Bruce Lee shows off some of his most impressive fighting abilities. So. Damn. Fast.
The Chuck Norris fight that caps it off is quite good too and actually manages to be one of the American's finest.

ENTER THE DRAGON is usually hailed as Lee's best film, but this one is my personal favorite. It has a great story set in Rome, that famous nun-chaku beatdown, and of course the epic Chuck Norris fight. Great stuff.

The first film Bruce Lee directed, The Way of the Dragon feels like a bit of an experiment, a movie on which Lee tests out and finds the tone he hopes to achieve in more refined work in the future. Sadly, that work would not come to pass. Pluses include some excellent fights (although not quite as good as Fist of Fury), a sense of humor (sorely lacking from Fist or The Big Boss), and getting a chance to admire Nora Miao's beauty for awhile; negatives include having to see Chuck Norris' totally gross shoulder back hair.

Its acting, apart from it being terrible, is more like a stage play, and the movie itself is more like a slapstick comedy then anything else.
Although I enjoyed it, mostly in a nostalgic way, my childhood memories are slightly different watching it after all these years again!

This is my favorite Bruce Lee movie. Bruce Lee's nunchaku skills and flying kicks at his best. The legendary final fight at the Colosseum vs Chuck Norris is one of his kind and a must-see for martial art fans. Be like water my friend...

Grandeza.

Films like this define the problem with rating films with marks out of 5. This isn't a 5* film, but it's absolutely unmissable.

Good fun at times and Lee kicking ass when needed, he handles his funnyness well and i liked the story involving bad guys trying to squeeze out a family out of their business. great numchuck fight also and of course Chuck Norris coming ast the end with a hairy back
