As much flack as Adam Sandler gets (much of it deserving, especially these days), I think that when he's actually trying he's a genuinely talented comic with a unique appeal and three truly must-see movies to his name. Those would be PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE, the inspired, oft-underrated gem HAPPY GILMORE, and this sweet little romantic comedy. (One of the few in that subgenre that actually strikes just the right balance between the romance and the comedy, neglecting neither and over-emphasizing neither).
Sandler is usually at his best when playing an eccentric, immature, but essentially good-natured Average Joe, who tends to internalize all his anger until it releases in a quick burst, unpredictably and sometimes violently. Of course, no one understood this…

The Wedding Singer makes me wanna get a "Only Members" Jacket, grow a 5 o’clock shadow beard and listen to Billy idol!
The Wedding Singer hit all the sweet spots, I love the 80's, the music, the films. The Wedding Singer showcase all that, and some great laughs, charismatic characters and a funny story.
Adam Sandler is great! He really made the character his own, normally I hate the way he approaches every character he does but here it works. Drew Barrymore, what can I say, she's never been cuter, I adore her in this, my favorite role from here.
The premise is nothing new,…

With its great 80's soundtrack, The Wedding Singer is Adam Sandlers best film with its nice easy going charm, its a good fun comedy that doesnt grate and outstay its welcome..a Sandler movie where he got the balance just right.

It's pure, sappy, rom-com formula, and yet so many of the formulaic rom-coms manage to be as funny, sweet, and endearing as this one. Why can't Sandler do more stuff like this?
-
This is one of Adam Sander's greatest films which is rare because most of his films are steaming piles of shit.

Watching this film today I often find some the knowing nods to future events to be cringe-worthy. It's not subtle.
But it's set in the 80's, is Adam Sandler's best film and, I don't think, Drew has ever looked nicer.
If you've not seen it (shame on you) this is a comedy about a Wedding Singer (surprise!) named Robbie who, after his fiance dumps him at the alter, goes on a downward slide. Meanwhile he meets Julia who, getting married herself, needs Robbies help.
The music is fantastic and there's a great uncredited cameo by Steve Buscemi. My favourite scene - Jimmie Moore, the "alternative" wedding singer and another great, uncredited cameo.

Great soundtrack, great laughs and a great story. When Sandler films were great. Has so many quotable moments.

One of those Sandler movies that's pretty dumb but funny because it's dumb.

Sweet without being saccharine.
>> I watched this movie way too many times. If it's showing on tv, wi will watch it.
