More-
A film from German director Hans Weingartner, better know for The Edukators, who takes a look at a young undergraduate, Lukas, Daniel Brühl, and his decent into madness after taking magic mushrooms.
Anyone who has ever 'dabbled' with psilocybins or has an interest in schizophrenia and mental health issues should find this film interesting.
Prior to going on his trip Weingartner shows us how Lukas was prone to outburst if he wasn't getting his own way but that would not explain the abruptness of the psychosis and the speed at which it took hold. Or would it?
Once the schizophrenia has taken hold, however, we get a unique insight into the mind of the sufferer; the voices, delusions and all.
Decent debut film from Weingartner but best avoided if you're not a fan of the hand held camera.
