The Wildest Dream
An amazing true story of love, courage, and destiny at the top of the world.
Uses astonishing visuals to tell the intersecting stories of George Mallory, the first man to attempt a summit of Mount Everest, and Conrad Anker, the mountaineer who finds Mallory's frozen remains 75 years later.
This documentary is insightful and it has power to hold your attention to it. I'm fan of adventure, and this documentary falls in that category. It has got horrendous scenes of Mount Everest's taunting posture; the documentary deals with expedition team which found corpse of George Mallory (the first man who attempted to climb this monster). A near perfect documentary worth watching!
Was Mt. Everest conquered as early as 1924?
It's a real life mystery, or rather a romantic quest of sorts, high above sea level.
Fantastic doco interweaving a biopic of George Mallory with an attempt to recreate his final ascent of Everest.
Pretty interesting take on George Mallory's (possible) first ascent of Everest 90 years ago. Conrad Anker does a good job describing what it's like to be on Everest, and discovering what it would have been like for Mallory.
"George Mallory and Sandy Irvine attempted to climb to the summit of Mount Everest in 1924 - this film attempts to answer the question of whether they had reached the summit before succumbing to Everest's hostile environment. Sadly the film wasn't as compelling as a documentary shown some years ago on British television, but was still a nice look at a little bit of history."
Documentary about Mallory and Irvine missing on Mt Everest.
I love a good film about mountainclimbing, be it the over-the-top extravaganza of a hollywood blockbuster, like Vertical Limit, or…
