I would rather watch a six hour slideshow of my grandmother's collection of bloody dick photos than see this movie again.

When my friends are around, I refer to this movie as "There's Something About Chris Elliott", because I could give a shit about Cameron Diaz.

This is 14 years old now. god i feel old
My favourite farrelly brothers movie just beating Stuck on you. it still holds up very well. despite what ben stiller has become he's great to watch as the everyman hero of this.
Matt dillon is the standout. very slimy but the most fun character in the movie. remarkble seeing Lee evans in this. he's one of my favourite stand up comedians and his movie career never got bigger than this which was a shame.
some great moments (hair gel, dog fights) and earl browns very convincing potrayal of warren (which is brilliant) are still fun to watch.diaz(who somehow keeps getting fitter over the years) is as loveable as the role requires her to be and she can still do this very well and as great comic timing too and has grown so much as an actress since this.
still a great watch. but god i feel old

I like to pretend Diaz still looks like this.

Haven't watched this im years and expected it to be dated now but i was wrong. Still funny as fuck and Matt Dillon is the star of the film in my opinion - his line about working with retards and having one that's "a good kid so we don't bust his chops too much" is gold. NOOO 7 MINUTE ABS!!!

I hadn't seen this one in quite awhile, but it was fun to pop it in again. Ben Stiller is great in perhaps his first notable role as a poor, unlucky schmuck (a role he would go on to play again and again and again), but Matt Dillon is brilliant as the sleazy detective Stiller sends out to investigate Mary. Obviously, not as fun as the first times, but still worth it.

STORY
Ted, an awkward teenager, falls in love with high school friend, Mary. Fast-forward thirteen years, and Ted is still in love with Mary. He hires a private investigator, Pat, to find Mary, hoping that she will still be single and as beautiful as ever. Unfortunately, Pat also falls for Mary and tries to woo her himself. The plot of this movie is something that most men can relate to I think. At some point in our lives, we've had a crush on a pretty girl and missed our opportunity for at least one date. What is probably unfamiliar to most men is the way this movie plays out. Ted has the worst luck when it comes to expressing his…

Full disclosure: I have never seen a film from the Farrelly brothers. Dumb And Dumber was a fairly big touchstone back in the '90s, but for whatever reason, I never felt very compelled to watch it. And perhaps their most well-regarded and envelope-pushing effort, There's Something About Mary, was R-rated, and growing up in a more strict household concerning film content there was no way I'd be seeing it. Looking back on this film now, especially in an era when comedies have become much more nasty and mean-spirited, is almost a refreshing experience. I expected the moments of outrageous gross-out humor, including the now-infamous "hair gel" scene. What I wasn't expecting was Jonathan Richman singing a love song over the…

The juvenile men swoon for Mary, and after awhile, so do we.

Wildly irreverent, There's Something About Mary boasts a committed, award-winning performance from Cameron Diaz.
