Tin Toy
1988 Directed by John Lasseter
Synopsis
Babies are hardly monster-like, unless you're a toy. After escaping a drooling baby, Tinny realizes that he wants to be played with after all. But in the amount of time it takes him to discover this, the baby's attention moves on to other things only an infant could find interesting.

Oscar winning Pixar short. Quite an amusing little story but it's let down by poor/disturbing animation on the baby. 5/10.

Horribly dated, poor animation, and one hell of a creepy baby.
-
Brillant!!

That's one scaryass baby right there!
Not really very good compared to the other Pixar shorts I've seen. -
Extremely dated — poor animation, poor sound. Story is numbingly simple and didn't do anything for me, not having hideous, slobbering babies in my life.

Saw this at an exhibition, along with a handful of other early Pixar short films. The baby was creepy as hell!

A bit rough round the edges.

The baby is the creepiest thing ever committed to film.

I get that Pixar was still exploring different 3D technologies at this time, but most of this should've been left in the Experiments drawer. The modeling and lighting are both pretty weak, the baby is a Cronenbergian nightmare. Even if it were rendered well, it's not a particularly charming story. The only part that really works is the discovery of the other toys under the sofa. Good thing they turned that into Toy Story.
