This is perhaps Ahnold's best comedic performance.
What works really well is that the script smartly uses his physique as a comedy asset. It doesn't hurt of course that matching him to Danny DeVito is one of the most inspired casting decisions ever.
Deftly helmed by Mr. Reitman, this film, after so many years, hasn't lost its irresistible charm, its warm heart and its inoffensive, light humour.

Thank goodness Arnold had his muscles to save him and not his singing voice.
Teaming up with Danny really works with some great funny lines between the pair of them.
Nice moving touches which overall is a light hearted comedy.
'Yakety Yak, don't go back' -
Sometimes people try to tell me that Arnold Schwarzenegger can't be cute and they almost convince me, but then I Twins.

Part of my ongoing campaign to watch every Arnie film.
Ahnolt spent the 1980s establishing himself as the world's top action star. As the decade neared an end he sought a change and was offered a choice; this movie or Suburban Commando. Thankfully he choose this, relegating Hulk Hogan to the B movie. Although Twins with Hogan and Christopher Lloyd might have been pretty good. Nah, Hogan couldn't play Julius Benedict. Ahnolt imbues him with a childish simplicity, all doe-eyed and innocent. Hogan doesn't have an acting range let alone an acting range that would allow him to do that.
There are those who soundly trash every Ahnolt comedy as too broad. Twins has a subtlety that's missing from the…

After a scientific experiment goes wrong a perfect example of humanity (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger (yes, Hollywood has very strange ideas of perfection)) is separated from his twin brother (played by Danny DeVito). They meet up as adults and set off on a search to find out the truth about their birth.
There is so much that is wrong about this film (Arnie's acting, the ludicrous plot, the late 1980s look if it, the attitude that lots of muscle makes a perfect man) but it is surprisingly funny. -

Frank Reynolds stars, playing himself alongside the King of California (Moomins reference). A GREAT FILM. Sorry, didn't know that caps lock was on. It is great though, very funny.

Like most of Arnie's none classics I enjoy them for their nostalgic and comedy values. This is one to laugh at rather than laugh with. Contains one of the few lough out loud deaths I can remember seeing in a film. Hard not to watch with a recurring chuckle.

I would very much like Arnold Schwarzenegger to sing Yakety Yak like he does in Twins at my funeral. Can that be arranged?

This has some really funny moments but it is starting to show it's age. It is still one of the first movies that Arnold showed comedic acting ability (who'd have thunk it!) – which with the right script – such as here, is solid. Great popcorn movie requiring no thought.

I would of loved to be in the room when someone pitched the idea for Twins. "We'll have one guy who is the example of the physically perfect human with a pure heart and he will have a twin brother who is a short, disgusting, tubby little bastard! We can get Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito to play the twins! It'll be hilarious!" Well as terrible as the idea might sound its the Schwarzenegger and Devito part that makes it pure gold.
When it comes to comedies this is the best of the best Schwarzenegger by a long shot (Sorry Jingle All The Way) and its pretty up there for Devito as well. I would of loved to know how…

Boasting plenty of eighties charm and appeal, the first of Arnie’s often ill-advised forays into comedy is also his best and most successful. An extra star for Schwarzenegger's calves.
