Dear Mrs. Beckinsale,
After the depressing Catwoman and Elektra I'd like to thank you for restoring my faith in leather clad women.
Thank you. Really.
Sincerely,
Me
P.S. Your film was a wonderfully gorgeous piece of astounding mediocrity. Well done!
P.P.S. Cinebro, you were right! -
You know when Selene picks up two guns shit's about to go down. I fucking love this woman.

I saw this at the cinema when it first came out, and I still love it just as much. A great action film, and a great sequel on top of that.

This film improves on the original in every way. It's a lot more focused in every aspect. The storytelling, visuals, action and even the soundtrack all much better than the first Underworld.

It's entertaining. Sue me, I enjoy it. Nothing left to say!

The biggest problem with the film is that the plot and the characters, which weren’t the first film’s strong suit, are even weaker this time out. Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman reprise their roles as the leads, but although Beckinsale’s Selene gains a little bit more backstory, it isn’t much, and she doesn’t undergo much character development either. Meanwhile, Speedman’s Michael is essentially a waste of screen time. In the first film, he was essentially a living MacGuffin and not all that interesting as a character in his own right; he doesn’t get any more fleshing out here, and as he’s no longer the thing everybody is after, he’s lost the only thing that made him halfway interesting. Im a massive fan of the series, but, this is perhaps the best one. Tony Curran is great as Marcus, plus the costume design is [as always] epic!
Perfect entertainment
I hope for many more underworlds to come

The movie hurt for not having the hammy performances of Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy.
-
Ihmissudet ja vampit selvittelee välejään edelleen. Ruma lentävä hahmo osallistuu show’hun.
Siitä jatketaan mihin ykkösosassa jäätiin. Suuntakin on sama, alaspäin.

Okay sequel, in that they really dropped the ball on a few things.
1. It's still too damn dark.
2. Werewolves really aren't a factor in this film. The plot if more Vampires eating their own so to speak.
3. A super hot sex scene shows NOTHING from the super sexy Mrs. Beckinsale!
4. Kraven was such a douche in the first film and needed to have a nice long punishment, and he's out of this movie in a few minutes it seems.
Marcus also looks a LOT like Lucian, so at times it can almost be confusing who is who. They either cast a lot of look a likes, or the lighting is so bad it doesn't distinguish anyone.
The ending also seemed a tad lackluster.

"For six centuries I was a loyal soldier to the vampire clan. But I was betrayed. The war was not as it had seemed. In one night, the lies that had united our kind had been exposed. Kraven, our second-in-command, had formed a secret alliance with Lucian, leader of the werewolf clan, to overthrow Viktor, our leader. But Kraven's lust for power and domination had failed. Viktor was not the savior I had been led to believe. He had betrayed us all. Soon, the hunt will be on for his killer. I have but one ally left: Michael, the human descendent of Corvinus. Neither vampire nor lycan, but a hybrid. It's only a matter of time before we're found. My only hope now is to awaken Markus, our last remaining elder, and expose the truth before Kraven tries to murder him while he's still in hibernation. Kraven knows he's no match for him awake."
