While this particular documentary about 'Women on waves' - an organisation whose mission is to provide help to women in need of abortion - in itself is quite pedestrian and more akin to Morgan Spurlock-esque info dumps, I couldn't help but feel drawn to the main character in this film, Rebecca Gomperts. Her charisma, ardour and a type of really in-your-face arrogance is something to admire.
Whatever your stance on terminating a pregnancy, I think "Vessel" is an interesting watch. Filmed over a really long period of time, this film does bring to life certain aspects of this highly controversial topic to light and just as Rebecca's actions, it should help in starting an adult debate on the treatment of women.
