Doormat Wesley Gibson discovers that his recently murdered father -- who Wesley never knew -- belonged to a secret guild of assassins. After a leather-clad sexpot drafts Wesley into the society, he hones his innate killing skills and turns avenger.
An over the top crazy, insane out of its mind action film with a really good performance from James McAvoy, I have come up with a new word to describe a film FUF that's what wanted is, FUF stands for fucked up fun.
This film is one of the most ridiculously awesome things I have ever seen. And yes, that does include Shoot 'Em Up. Seriously, this is just brilliant. There's people curving bullets, people flipping cars then shooting people whilst still in said car, exploding rats and Angelina Jolie.
And I never though the day would come when I started measuring movie badassness on the merits of a character played by James McAvoy.
An adrenaline filled film, with a great performance from James McAvoy. It's just absolute fun, great cast, explosive soundtrack and entertaining action sequences.
When you think about truly entertaining "popcorn movies" of recent years, Timur Bekmambetov's Wanted fits the bill pretty well. Another comic-book adaptation to get the big screen treatment, this was as fast-paced as action films got back in 2008.
James McAvoy plays a downtrodden office worker who's life is passing him by. Bullied at his job, and derided by his cheating girlfriend, he suffers panic attacks as he struggles just to get through the day. His life though is about to change after he meets the stunning Angelina Jolie in a late night pharmacy who informs him that his father was an expert assassin and that his killer is now hunting him. That's the premise here, McAvoy is asked to…
I am for watching this film for a little while and I read some bad comments about it and I can't understand why all of the hate!? This film is totally cool! It has the most crazy impossible action scenes but all were awesome to watch! I had a lot of "wow" moments and it was a pure and good entertainment thriller from beginning to end!
James McAvoy passes from idiot to badass and he did a great job, again! He is a versatile actor and I really admire him. Angelina Jolie plays the type of character that is always perfect for her, so she was great too. Well and Morgan Freeman is Morgan Freeman.
For me this is definitely worth watching and I had a lot of fun!
"What the fuck have you done lately?.."
Exceptionally filmed scenes of exceptional action!
Not as dark as the graphic novel but still packs a bloody punch.
McAvoy proves he can be an A list star and Jolie finally brings out the superstar card she'd always threatened.
And she also shows her exceptional back side.
This film is trying so hard to be subversive, so very hard to be highly stylized, so desperately trying to cover up that it's just a shallow, rather generic action film with inconsistent direction, no real plot and dull action scenes. James MacAvoy is great as always, but his character is constantly changing on a dime to be whatever kind of character the script wants him to be at any given moment.
What do you get if you take the guy from Fight Club and put him in a crass, obvious wish fulfillment, with over the top action scenes, violence, and some humor? Not that good of a thing.
The choreography in the action scenes is great, but at times the editing is too choppy to properly enjoy them. The car scenes are excellent though - an extra half star for them.
Good action movie from 2008 that was enjoyable with a insane train action sequence with a great twist ending!
What the fuck have you done lately?"
One of those movies that trying to be way smarter than they actually are.It develops too quickly the story and the main characters, while also takes itself too seriously. It has some fun sequences, but James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie are those who save this film.
I like the part about office jobs being terrible and soul crushing. I dislike the part about a heart condition giving you superpowers.
A high-octane, badass, intense action thriller with a dynamite cast and a perfect soundtrack. Wanted doesn't have a whole lot of substance, nor does it really define its characters past typical cliches, but it's a damn good time watching them all kick ass.
My third favorite James McAvoy movie.
tejóg, de buta film :D de így is szórakoztatott, úgyhogy annyit megért
Not another list of the last five Marvel movies, but an attempt at creating The Superhero List To End All…
There is something about super hero movies that I can never get enough of. I can even tolerate a bad…
