Doormat Wesley Gibson discovers that his recently murdered father -- who Wesley never knew -- belonged to a secret guild of assassins. After a leather-clad sexpot drafts Wesley into the society, he hones his innate killing skills and turns avenger.
An over the top crazy, insane out of its mind action film with a really good performance from James McAvoy, I have come up with a new word to describe a film FUF that's what wanted is, FUF stands for fucked up fun.
This film is one of the most ridiculously awesome things I have ever seen. And yes, that does include Shoot 'Em Up. Seriously, this is just brilliant. There's people curving bullets, people flipping cars then shooting people whilst still in said car, exploding rats and Angelina Jolie.
And I never though the day would come when I started measuring movie badassness on the merits of a character played by James McAvoy.
An adrenaline filled film, with a great performance from James McAvoy. It's just absolute fun, great cast, explosive soundtrack and entertaining action sequences.
When you think about truly entertaining "popcorn movies" of recent years, Timur Bekmambetov's Wanted fits the bill pretty well. Another comic-book adaptation to get the big screen treatment, this was as fast-paced as action films got back in 2008.
James McAvoy plays a downtrodden office worker who's life is passing him by. Bullied at his job, and derided by his cheating girlfriend, he suffers panic attacks as he struggles just to get through the day. His life though is about to change after he meets the stunning Angelina Jolie in a late night pharmacy who informs him that his father was an expert assassin and that his killer is now hunting him. That's the premise here, McAvoy is asked to…
I am for watching this film for a little while and I read some bad comments about it and I can't understand why all of the hate!? This film is totally cool! It has the most crazy impossible action scenes but all were awesome to watch! I had a lot of "wow" moments and it was a pure and good entertainment thriller from beginning to end!
James McAvoy passes from idiot to badass and he did a great job, again! He is a versatile actor and I really admire him. Angelina Jolie plays the type of character that is always perfect for her, so she was great too. Well and Morgan Freeman is Morgan Freeman.
For me this is definitely worth watching and I had a lot of fun!
"What the fuck have you done lately?.."
Exceptionally filmed scenes of exceptional action!
Not as dark as the graphic novel but still packs a bloody punch.
McAvoy proves he can be an A list star and Jolie finally brings out the superstar card she'd always threatened.
And she also shows her exceptional back side.
Χρυσό βατόμουρο: η Τζολί υποδύεται ότι τρώει με λαιμαργία ένα χαμπουργκερ.
Wanted (Seen before) - Action packed with a decent story. James McAvoy is amazing as always (but this is coming from someone who was his biggest fan when he appeared in Series one of Shameless, so judge as you will). 3.5/5
wish it was more
This was kind of wacky and entertaining, while being a complete disaster at the same time. I'm still not certain if i dig it or if I want to obtain a dvd copy and burn it in an offering to Satan our eternal Lord of Darkness.
Still holds up, guns blazing.
There are some movies you remember liking but aren't too sure for the reasons why and they usually end up being disappointing, Wanted, isn't one of them. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised by my second viewing and might have enjoyed it even more this time around.
McAvoy plays Wesley, a man who has a boring office job, an overly aggressive boss, an under appreciative girlfriend, a backstabbing best-friend and no ambition or clear future in sight. Wesley starts up being a very identifiable character but he soon learns he has the ability to "slowdown" everything around him, this inevitable sets up the action scenes filled with curving bullets, cars flipping in the…
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This movie is awesome!! Nonstop action!! Morgan Freeman is fucking coool,, didn't see the twist, coming either!
oh my god this is still one of my fave films ever the cinematography is so fuckin good angelina jolie is gorgeous james mcavoy is painfully awkward and incredible for it
also like the soundtrack ??? when u can hear touches of the nightmare before christmas coming through and it's so wrong for the context but feels so fuckin right. I could write essays on how much I love this film. oh my god.
Fucking beautiful that's what this. Movie fucking genius, and like no one does bullet scenes like Wanted, that's right Sin City, i'm talking to you. Stop being a fuck boy and watch this film, its fucking tense, and like yes plottwist, and you're like "holy shit, how did i not see that shit coming, i'm so stupid" but in you heart, you're like "damn, did not expect that and thank the lords of generic fuckboys that i didnt see that coming."
For a movie about "assassins" you'd think the characters would act more subtle. Instead they run around guns blazing in public most of the time not even trying to be stealthy. Some of the action is kinda cool though. It's unique and the idea of bending bullets is pretty interesting. Could have been better, could have been worse.
Not another list of the last five Marvel movies, but an attempt at creating The Superhero List To End All…
There is something about super hero movies that I can never get enough of. I can even tolerate a bad…
