I am for watching this film for a little while and I read some bad comments about it and I can't understand why all of the hate!? This film is totally cool! It has the most crazy impossible action scenes but all were awesome to watch! I had a lot of "wow" moments and it was a pure and good entertainment thriller from beginning to end!
James McAvoy passes from idiot to badass and he did a great job, again! He is a versatile actor and I really admire him. Angelina Jolie plays the type of character that is always perfect for her, so she was great too. Well and Morgan Freeman is Morgan Freeman.
For me this is definitely worth watching and I had a lot of fun! -
This film is one of the most ridiculously awesome things I have ever seen. And yes, that does include Shoot 'Em Up. Seriously, this is just brilliant. There's people curving bullets, people flipping cars then shooting people whilst still in said car, exploding rats and Angelina Jolie.
And I never though the day would come when I started measuring movie badassness on the merits of a character played by James McAvoy.

"What the fuck have you done lately?.."
Exceptionally filmed scenes of exceptional action!
Not as dark as the graphic novel but still packs a bloody punch.
McAvoy proves he can be an A list star and Jolie finally brings out the superstar card she'd always threatened.
And she also shows her exceptional back side.
Exceptional.

Film #31 of Cinebro's "Eating Stale Popcorn Like Manna From Heaven" Challenge
I've seen plenty of crappy movies in my day, but rare indeed is the movie so crappy that it causes me to feel sudden and debilitating existential dread. As I watched "Wanted" unfurl, slack-jawed in my disbelief that such a piece of oppressive awfulness was allowed to be made, let alone released to the unsuspecting masses, I started to think about what brought me to this place in my life. Every thought I'd had since birth, every word that I'd uttered, and every path that I'd chosen in my entire life led me inexorably towards watching "Wanted" on a random Tuesday afternoon. Those 110 interminable minutes represented the…

Insane, but the best kind of insane. Reminds me of Dredd, actually, (which of course came later, although I saw it first), with the slow-mo hyper-stylised violence and the hyperactive adrenaline-fuelled action sequences.

This movie is the definition of style over substance. Timur Bekmambetov proves again and again that he has a great eye for action setpieces that are clever and unique. Who would have thought that in 2008 someone could reinvent the wheel regarding shoot outs? Curving bullets is such a wonderfully stupid idea.
However, if you watch this movie looking for realism or the slightest hope of a decent story you will be disappointed. But if you can look beyond that you're in for one hell of an amazing rollercoaster ride.
It is kinda sad though that the producers managed to hire Angelina Jolie and then only her skin and bones showed up.

After reading Mark Millar's comic book series of the same name (he also wrote the Kick-Ass series) I decided to finally give this movie a try. Glad I did. It was great! Definitely toned down the heavy nihilism of the comic, and went with a more traditional underdog narrative structure. If you're a fan of John Woo's movies, you'll like this.

June 05's choice: Wanted 2008
It's another action shoot em up flick with lots of gun firing, car chases, CGI violence and also features a tattooed Angelina Jolie. Surprisingly enough Wanted is a actually a solid action spy film. It's at least fun and does a good job of being entertaining from start to finish.
Summer blockbuster's are never deep and artistic but they are fun for what they are and Wanted is definitely a fun popcorn action flick.

Nice action film with some cool special effects..

Timur Bekmambetov (known for the Russian Night Watch series) directs Wanted, a visually stunning film with a lot of action and violence. This movie has a lot of things going for it such as the special effects and the cast. The plot may be a little out there but the action does make up for it and James McAvoy proves he can carry out a movie, although he did have a great supporting cast in this one with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman alongside. The movie does have quite a few twists some of which are a bit predictable but what stands out in this film are the visuals. The begginning marks the tone of the movie with a highly stylish and Matrix like action scene. This film is not one to ponder about, it was simply made to enjoy the action and the violence which was very similar to Shoot Em Up. It is a highly entertaining ride!

It's a magic loom, dude. What is there not to get?

A fun but forgettable action flick. I would have preferred a more faithful translation to the source material, but this is decent, but derivative of better movies like Matrix or Fight Club.
