Choose your destiny.
Doormat Wesley Gibson discovers that his recently murdered father -- who Wesley never knew -- belonged to a secret guild of assassins. After a leather-clad sexpot drafts Wesley into the society, he hones his innate killing skills and turns avenger.
This film is one of the most ridiculously awesome things I have ever seen. And yes, that does include Shoot 'Em Up. Seriously, this is just brilliant. There's people curving bullets, people flipping cars then shooting people whilst still in said car, exploding rats and Angelina Jolie.
And I never though the day would come when I started measuring movie badassness on the merits of a character played by James McAvoy.
An adrenaline filled film, with a great performance from James McAvoy. It's just absolute fun, great cast, explosive soundtrack and entertaining action sequences.
I am for watching this film for a little while and I read some bad comments about it and I can't understand why all of the hate!? This film is totally cool! It has the most crazy impossible action scenes but all were awesome to watch! I had a lot of "wow" moments and it was a pure and good entertainment thriller from beginning to end!
James McAvoy passes from idiot to badass and he did a great job, again! He is a versatile actor and I really admire him. Angelina Jolie plays the type of character that is always perfect for her, so she was great too. Well and Morgan Freeman is Morgan Freeman.
For me this is definitely worth watching and I had a lot of fun!
"What the fuck have you done lately?.."
Exceptionally filmed scenes of exceptional action!
Not as dark as the graphic novel but still packs a bloody punch.
McAvoy proves he can be an A list star and Jolie finally brings out the superstar card she'd always threatened.
And she also shows her exceptional back side.
When you think about truly entertaining "popcorn movies" of recent years, Timur Bekmambetov's Wanted fits the bill pretty well. Another comic-book adaptation to get the big screen treatment, this was as fast-paced as action films got back in 2008.
James McAvoy plays a downtrodden office worker who's life is passing him by. Bullied at his job, and derided by his cheating girlfriend, he suffers panic attacks as he struggles just to get through the day. His life though is about to change after he meets the stunning Angelina Jolie in a late night pharmacy who informs him that his father was an expert assassin and that his killer is now hunting him. That's the premise here, McAvoy is asked to…
0% logic. 100% awesome.
Also, Morgan Freeman saying "shoot this motherfucker."
it was cool????? again james was hot in it????? literally only watched it because mcavoy was in it but i liked it yeah it was good. it was fun. i dont know what else to say.
I enjoyed Wanted, even though I'm not much of a fan of this genre. The action sequences were appealing and well-done.
My parents and I lasted all of six minutes before we switched over to a Midsomer Murders rerun and watched that instead. From what I saw this movie was very Fight Club-esque, but too ridiculous to be any good.
Jesus Christ, the Loom of Fate.
I've seen it before only on an ipod and I thought it was an awesome movie on that. Now that I've seen it on my 52 inch it's so much better.
I am a huge advocate for the first Kick-Ass movie, Mark Millar's most successful comic book adaption. With the future release of The Secret Service (based on Mark Millar's comic) I thought I would visit his first book turned movie, Wanted. I found the results to be an entertaining yet underwhelming action film.
The real star of Wanted is its action. The scenes are high energy and feature great special effects. The director seems to enjoy the use of slow motion, maybe a little to much. The best scenes in the movie balance the amount of slow motion and regular speed, but some of the other scenes rely too heavily on its use. Not only is the reliance on slow…
Badass James McAvoy
The league of assassins is called "The Fraternity," so we start with "Rush." A nice week where they show you the goods - something you won't be seeing again - and treat you as an equal. In the case of Wanted, a stunt course on a freeway with fast cars and fraternity groupies, the summit of which is Angelina Jolie. Then, once you're hooked, you get hazed. Bekmambetov, like a good fraternity proprietor, likes hazing. In fact, most of Wanted's running time is tinkled away in comic, consequence free bludgeoning. McAvoy gets cut, punched, shot, and insulted relentlessly and every minute of it is viewed joyously. Then, once the pledge has devoted himself, he's forced to commit an act of…
