Ahhh memories of adolescense....
That glorious time where girls became figures to gaze at longingly rather than just being annoying and their breasts become objects of wonder instead of the milky life-bags they were before...
Into this red hot soup of hormones and tired right arms stepped Kelly LeBrock and Weird Science and my 11 year old mind was blown to smithereens!
The tale of 2 losers who use their computer skills, black magic and a bra on their heads to conjure up their perfect dream girl and go on the greatest adventure of their lives! To find themselves and in the end, their REAL dream girls!
Removing those (steamed up) rose tinted spectacles and it has aged pretty badly,…

Movie #3 from my 1985: Birth Year Challenge.
So I realise that, just reading the reviews on Letterboxd, this is one of the films which you will either love or hate. I'm in the love category on it.
Its funny, clever and comes from the 80's, which means there is no other generation that Weird Science could work in.
It also has Kelly LeBrock. My God. What a babe.

What's not to like about this film? 80s teenage wet dream on film - brilliant!

Good 80's comedy made by John Hughes. Hilarious and well acted. The script is well written. It is really weird but well made. Worth a watch.

Maybe if I had seen this as a teenager I would have enjoyed it more, but I didn't so it doesn't.

The biggest misstep in John Hughes' career, exchanging high school teen angst for stupid, goofy annoying silliness that is not charming in any way but stupid and fricking annoying. A stupid movie.

The target audience is teens, but its a nice and wacky comedy, with plus a half star for oingo boingo soundtrack in it

Podía ser mucho y de verdad qué me pareció algo original, pero me aburrió, la conexión con los personajes principales es poca, conoces su deseo, porque los motiva pero la película decae y no sabes qué hacer.

Weird Science is just weird, as the title would suggest. I'm not sure why I watched it but all I know is I enjoyed it despite that it is clearly aged badly and is outdated. However It was harmless fun and I enjoyed it for that.
Robert Downey Jr. is in this. That is all.

So much better than I remembered and a fantastic example of 80's fantasy sex comedies. I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did but it is very quotable and excellent fun, would be good to see at the cinema.
Kelly LeBrock was actually very good in the role, not sure how much more depth she could bring to other roles but as the experienced older woman to the two teen boys she was perfect in this film.
Overall John Hughes has made some great films and this re-watch of this hilarious comedy has made me want to re-visit and make sure I have seen all of his films.
