Martin Lawrence leads Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins as a wealthy TV show host with a shallow wife to be (Joy Bryant). He returns home to his large southern family after nine years away and realizes how different they are from him. Some of the highlights in the cast are James Earl Jones as a disapproving father, Cedric the Entertainer as a brother, Mo’Nique as well as Mike Epps as cousins and Michael Clarke Duncan as a sheriff. Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins (2008) is a movie I recently watched on Netflix. The storyline follows a successful television host who returns home for the first time in a long time with his fiancée and son. He's always had resentment towards his family for several things which are about to come out during a series of family festivities.
This movie is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man) and stars Martin Lawrence (Bad Boys), James Earl Jones (Star Wars), Michael Clarke Duncan (Green Mile), Margaret Avery (The Color Purple), Joy Bryant (Honey), Cedric The Entertainer (Kings of Comedy), Mo'Nique (Precious) and Mike Epps (How High).
This is an uneven comedy with some hits and misses. The storyline actually had…
mi tipo de comedia and i’m guilty for that, es muy entretenida y sí te saca carcajadas más la clásica enseñanza sobre la familia y ni hablemos del cast qué es buenísimo. te amo mucho moni’que, una reina.
This genre of black comedies has became obsolete smh… you know what genre I’m talking about!
