When Harry met Sally is the perfect romantic comedy; a film that gets what relationships is about and knows how to convey this on screen. It does contain just the right balance of schmaltz and bite which makes it equally accessable to both men and women. The performance from Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are warm and charming, making them both hard not to care about. It does rely on the 80s montage a little too often for my taste, but this is a smart and funny film.

One of my favorite romantic comedies. A very honest script with well-written characters and memorable dialogue. It's not corny at all and it relies on very few clichés, which is almost unheard of for this genre.

My 400th Letterbox review!!!!!
A classic! One of the greatest-funniest Romantic Comedies ever made.
My favorite of Nora Ephron's scripts. Very insightful dialogue-great characters-likable characters-relatable characters. I believe the actors and the direction of Rob Reiner made the comedy work but Ephron laid all the ground work and what I love about this script is that a lot of the humor takes me by surprise-whether it's a quick witty line from Crystal or the scene where Carrie Fisher & Bruno Kirby…

another iconic picture that still feels fresh and funny, this film is a classic tale that might very well portray a relationship through a extended period of time.
those weird casual interviews might seem very odd but they can only be seen as a lemon sorbet in a multiple course dinner.
MEG RYAN gives the very best performance of her career, not only does she nail the comedy but she delivers many honest and heart-touching scenes.
BILLY CRYSTAL is almost… -
One of my favorite movies. Seen it a gazillion times.

Amazing film. Kinda in it's time as well as being way ahead of it's time.

Smart, satisfyingly romantic and constantly funny look at men-women relationship, it's as woodyallenish as you can get away with. An instant classic, still on the acceptable side of corny

I stopped recommending movies for years because I recommended my parents watch this and they didn't just hate it, they loathed it. Go figure
Still one of my favorite romantic comedies.

Watched this yet again, this time reading the script as I watched in split screen so I could take notes. Still just as entertaining as ever, and especially educational because the script is surprisingly brief in it's descriptions of the character's emotions, leaving them up to Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan to determine. This improves my opinion of them even more than this film already did.
