"Rufus, Brint, and Meekus were like brothers to me. And when I say brother, I don't mean, like, an actual brother, but I mean it like the way black people use it. Which is more meaningful I think."

"Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident."
What was it with nearly every comedy near the beginning of the 00's and being instantly quotable?
"I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!"
This really is a showcase of some of the best Hollywood comedy stars at the beginning of that decade. I mean, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson, all in the film, all playing it completely over-the-top? Brilliant. But especially Ben Stiller, whose titular character manages to be one of the most ridiculous, funniest characters of recent years. Then there's that, already mentioned, unbelievably quotable script.
And David Bowie. A lot more films could do with a Bowie cameo.

This Ben Stiller movie seems to divide fans – they either get on board and hail it as Stiller’s best comedic performance, or they brandish it as weak in terms of comical value in comparison to the revered Anchorman. I am on the side of it being Stiller’s best ever movie, however I may be influenced by the nostalgic hold this has over me, taking me back to a group of my teenage friends and I rolling around in stitches on the floor as we watched this hilarious masterpiece for the first time.
Regardless of the origination of my love for this film, it holds firm to this day. It is the movie I can recite the most quotes from…

Still one of my favourite comedy films. I know it's silly, I know it's full of obvious gags and innuendo, but it's done so well. It's guaranteed to make me laugh out loud every time I see it. I wouldn't even consider Zoolander "my kind of humour" when I think about it, but something with this film just works.
Possibly because the cast are all great, particularly Stiller, who always seems to be able to perform better in the movies he directs; I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Tropic Thunder. Some of the lines in this film too are fantastic, but it's all in the delivery; Owen Wilson's sudden realisation that the files are in the…

Yeah, so its patchy AS FUCK.
But when Zoolander is on, it is really fucking on.
Zoolander is my 19th favourite film of the noughties. -

Film 40/100 of the Jeapardous June Challenge
Truth be told, I've seen a lot of this movie before, but never from start to finish (I hope that doesn't violate the rules of the June Challenge). But the parts I remember are a lot funnier in my head than on screen.
I actually just found myself very bored by Zoolander. I've seen this film referenced and quoted a ridiculous amount of times, so I always had this impression it was a stroke of comedic genius. It really isn't.
The cast is all pretty good, and handles the material well; the problem is the material isn't all that good. I found myself chuckling every once in a while, but my laughs were…

Aw man, what happened to this? Every time I reference the golden age of Ben Stiller's comedic career this is the film that I mention most often. However, I think this is actually my first full watch of this film; if it isn't then I haven't seen this all the way through in a long time.
I really wanted this to still be funny, but sadly it wasn't. I found myself laughing only a handful of times. This film just seems very dated now. I remember thinking this was hilarious years ago so I know for certain that it was funny at one time, but maybe it is just one of those films that doesn't age well.
Ben Stiller really…

One of the best comedies of it's decade.

Not as good as I remember it being. Still, it moves fast and there are a lot of funny moments.
