List by Jacob Olsen Patron
Significant Norwegian films in no particular order
So, fellow letterboxders... please add suggestions! :-)
It's worth mentioning perhaps, that not all of these are to be considered great cinema. I tried to add those, that for one reason or another, created some kind of buzz when they came out. Mostly positive buzz, I guess, don't want to add complete failures here.
And hopefully, some classic decent films as well.
Thanks, I will add it!
The new Kon-Tiki clearly meets your criteria for earning a spot on this list, given the amount of buzz surrounding it.
I guess it does Geir. Added!
Søndagsengler (Oscar nominee), Shetlandsgjengen, Kampen om tungtvannet, Nødlanding, Arme Riddere, Da jeg traff Jesus... med sprettert, Ti kniver i hjertet, Budbringeren, Krigerens hjerte, Gymnaslærer Pedersen, Hodet over vannet (remade as Head Above Water), Mannen som elsket Yngve, Tomme tønner, Jakten på nyresteinen, Reisen til julestjernen, Izzat, Lange Flate Ballær, Mannen som ikke kunne le, Norske byggeklosser, Den siste revejakta, Operasjon Løvsprett, Skjult, Olsen-banden, Haakon Haakonsen (starring Gabriel Byrne).
And last, and also least, the cult classic Dis - en historie om kjærlighet.
Jeg likte ikke Skjult.
:-) To continue in English, I agree. Skjult did nothing for me. I guess Søndagsengler and Hodet over vannet could be included?
That's it?? No 'Dis'??
And this list feel incomplete without the great Get Ready to be Boyzvoiced! ;-)
What about the 1989 hit "Dykket"? Haven't seen that since I was a kid, but I remember it as quite thrilling and good.
Lasse & Geir is missing :)
"Thanks" blerget! ;)
