Much better then I thought it was gonna be.
The script is well written. I actually did kind of get into this story. The look of the film isn't all that good and it does still do the tropes of the "Young Adult novel" films, but if it's done well I can still go with it and this movie did it decently well.
The fight scenes where good and the film as a whole was shot pretty well.
I'm not excited for the sequel, like I was after seeing Catching Fire, but I'll see it when it comes out next year. Worth a watch.
John Hughes is a genius. From start to finish this movie is hilarious. This film really captures how it would be like to be stuck with an annoying person. Also Steve Martin's character is great in this. As is John Candy.
