The Return of the Living Dead 1985

★★★★ 1

"Do you wanna party? It's party time!"

This is a really fun horror comedy. The more times I watch it the more I enjoy it. The humor is well done. I love the idea that Night of the Living Dead was based on a cover up. It's an enjoyable film for any horror fan or just zombie fan. If you like stuff like Zombieland, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Shaun of the Dead and Fright Night then check this movie out. Worth a watch.

Army of Darkness 1993

"This is my BOOMstick!"-Ash
About time I finally see this one. Here it is folks. Ash Williams at his most bad ass. He has a double-barrel shot gun in one hand and a chainsaw in the other. How could you not like this character? I love the soundtrack for this one. The main title theme is so bad ass. This is a B-Movie of course, but it is the most bad ass B-Movie I have ever scene. For stop motion skeletons the Army of the dead looks really cool. I loved the combination of modern weapons with weapons of medieval times. Also the acting is good in this one. There are so many great quotes in this movie that it's hard to pick just one favorite quote. There is a reason Bruce Chambell is considered a master of B-movies, this is it. The action scenes are great. The comedy is great two, it had me laughing out loud a few times. This is easily my second favorite of the series. I hear that Sam Raimi is planning more Evil Dead movies. I am really excited after seeing this one and re watching the other two. Also of course seeing the reboot a couple months ago. If you haven't seen these films watch all 4 as soon as possible. Absolutely worth a watch.

Evil Dead II 1987

★★★★½

I know this is a lot of people's favorite but for me this is the weakest of the series. Don't get me wrong. I like it, quite a bit. And this second watch I enjoyed it much more then I did the first time and it went up a full star. It's much more comedic then the first one. A lot more in fact. One thing I don't like about this one is why did they recon the first movie. They kept some of the events of course but they changed enough were it just annoyed me a little bit. Also the damn redneck idiot in the middle of the movie. Except for the douche bag from Tommyknockers, I can't think of a character I have hated more in a horror movie. This guy annoyed me too much. When he turns the gun on Ash and the women right after they found out how to stop this thing it pissed me off. It's like he literally stops the movie in it's tracks to go and look for his girlfriend or wife for 5 minutes. I understand he's scared and all but you would think that he would want them to read from the pages if there is even a chance it will get them out of the situation. But no, he throws them down in the cellar with one of the deadites. This character just pissed me off. Besides those things this is an entertaining sequel and quite funny. I love the scene where all the objects in the cabin come to life and start laughing at Ash. Also when his hand starts acting up and he has to cut it off. That was a cool scene. When he gets the chainsaw hand has to be one of the most bad ass things in the history of movies. It is just f***ing awesome. I enjoyed the look of the film too. While it is my least favorite I still really enjoyed it. Worth a watch.

The Evil Dead 1981

★★★★★

It had to happen sooner or later. Just watched all three Evil Dead films in a row. I love this first one. I still remember when I first saw it. I was about 16, it was Halloween night. I had rented 3 horror movies to watch. Night of the Living Dead, Halloween 4, and this one. Out of all three this was my favorite. Though it has been demoted due to re watching Night of the Living Dead, I still love this one. I love the creepy atmosphere of the woods and the cabin, and of course the fog. From the very first frame it has great horror atmosphere. i love the POV shots of the unseen thing going across the swamp with all the fog and dead tree branches. It sets a great mood for the film that lasts through the full movie. The soundtrack is well done and creepy. It gives an ominous, creepy vibe to the film. I want that soundtrack for an Halloween playlist. Also the cabin looks great. The deadites, as they will be called in the sequels, look cool too. Even the stop motion at the end looks pretty good. It's great for any fan of horror. If you haven't seen it, rent it, wait until it gets dark outside, turn off the lights and enjoy. I've reviewed this movie on this site before so I don't have much else to say right now. One of my favorite 80's horror films and horror films period. Scary and creepy as hell. Absolutely worth a watch.

Superman II 1980

★★★★½ 3

Like the last film I saw this when I was about 13 years old. Haven't seen it since but I remember liking it. Going back to it I liked it a bit more but not as much as the first one. It's well paced and the villains are awesome. The soundtrack is great once again. The rendition of John Williams score is very well done and well placed in the film. The action scenes are fun. Even though it seems kind of cliched that he would give up his powers (or at least it does now after seeing Spider-Man 2 amongst other superhero films) it works in this story and makes sense. Also it's not that long until he gets his powers back. Like the last one some of the effects look dated but considering the time this was made it works for me. Zod and the other two villains are great. They are a legitimate threat, more so then Lex Luthar. The acting is great again and so are the action scenes. It's not quite as well paced as the last one but it's not to bad either. It's a good superhero movie. Well worth a watch.

Also I wouldn't say I am a G.I. Joe fan. I didn't grow up with it and have only seen part of the first episode of the cartoon and seen the G.I. Joe movie that Now Playing reviewed.

It was really a sliver away from being 3 stars. Made a judgement call and decided it had one two many script problems to give it 3 stars.

Agree, this movie gets more hate then I think it deserves. I enjoyed it and can't wait for the sequel.
