I suppose the movie we have to thank for studios thinking any SNL skit can be a movie. Still, I like this movie with music (not a musical), even though it is just a series of funny scenes, great music and car chases strung together by a loose plot. I watched an "expanded version" that I own with bonus footage. I guess, not necessarily a director's cut. I wish I owned the theatrical cut. It is apparent that there were reasons that the added footage was not included in the the first time around.
