Top Gun 1986
Classic. LOVE this movie. So damn good! One of Tony Scott's (RIP) bests. Everything about it is near perfect, it captures wonderfully and achieves everything it sets out to, with regard to this story about "Top Gun" fighter pilots. Entertaining beyond all, still exciting, fun, enjoyable to watch (I saw it so many times as a kid, too). Good emotion all around, just perfect. Dog fighting scenes are badass, exhilarating, and the editing is outstanding. Plus, I love the sort of unconventional twist (he doesn't get Top Gun!) in the story but that's what makes it great.

Blood Diamond 2006
Surprisingly better than I remember, great production values, solid story, some cheesy moments, but overall quite good.

Room 237 2013
I LOVE this doc. Such a fun, funny, amusing, entertaining, intriguing, engaging experience, and told in such a unique way - with clips of footage and nothing more (no talking heads). Seeing this for my second time, it's an excellent look at not only the brilliance of Stanley Kubrick as a filmmaker, but the culture/fascination that arises in investigating the depths of a film after it's released. Love it.

Senna 2011
This is an absolutely phenomenal film, wow. Breathtaking, pure beautiful cinema, capturing an honest, riveting, intimate look at the life of a man living his passions to the fullest. I didn't expecting it to be so fascinating, and take me on such an emotional journey. What an incredible man, I am just as honored to learn about who he is and what he believes in than I am to hear his story about how he was one of the great…

I Saw The Devil 2011
Some dark, demented, violent, crazy shit, but damn good.

Take This Waltz 2012
What a very odd, awkward film. Basically an entire film about adultery, and how hard this young girl tries not to commit it. As much as I wanted to love it, and it has some gorgeous cinematography, the characters felt flimsy and undefined. It's an interesting film, but that's as much as I can say for it. I loved how it ended, that final scene, at least! Yea...

The Sessions 2012
Great film, the structure/style is a bit typical, but the performances are tremendous. John Hawkes is outstanding in this.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close 2011
Another good, not great. Emotion was there, that's for sure, just odd moments throughout. Solid, but needed work.

John Dies at the End 2013
Insanely weird, wild, wacky film from Don Coscarelli.
