Thanks Hollie, I've only seen The People Under The Stairs from that list so I'll bow to your superior knowledge. Not sure how I've missed Phenomena up until now.
Javier, I'm a big fan of Crumb but I've never seen the documentary, I'll have to seek it out!
Why recommend Crumb? Amazing documentary (my favorite documentary, possibly) but he was never a shut-in. His brother was to an extent but he doesn't have too much screen time.
Maybe Rear Window? Jeff wasn't actually a shut-in but he was confined to his house because of his broken leg.
No problem, man. I'm sure there are a bunch more but those came to me pretty quick. The whole "kids kept in a house cause they're freaks" theme is quite appealing to me! ha!

Conversation with a Cupboard Man
Both sound right up my street, thanks!
Oh. My. Goodness. I finally get to suggest Abel for a list before Dirk. This is a good day.
Haha good thinking Adam. Abel sounds great too!
Off the top of my head: American Gothic, Grotesque, Humongous, Silent Scream, People Under the Stairs, The Unseen, Phenomena.
Great list, btw!!
I could recommend, 'Crumb' the biography of Comic artist Robert Crumb
