    ★★★½ Watched 25 May, 2013

    Highly entertaining film.

This had the potential of beating out Fast Five in terms of quality but it falls just oh so short of doing so. Reasons being-the villain. I'm starting to feel that every villain so far this summer season has not lived up to their potential. Their plans are never coherent-I know Evans' character needed something to do something but I just can't remember what that something was. The character never does that one thing to put him…

    Decent film.

Luhrmann is a great visionary. He may not make films that I enjoy immensely but he does catch my eye and his way of storytelling does keep hold of me from beginning to end.

The major problem I had with this film was I didn't really care about the characters. Any of them. I wasn't invested in Carraway's journey-I wasn't crossing my fingers and hoping that Gatsby obtained his goal-I couldn't care less about Daisy's role in the…

    My 200th Letterbox review!!!!!

Every viewing since I was a little kid to seeing it in theaters back in 06 to watching it just now is the same. I'm in love with the look of it-the terror of it-the shock of it-the brilliance of…

This film never felt right to me.

It's very strange because there is so many things in this film that I think are cool but they don't really add up to anything special.

First off the villain. When first hearing that Mickey Rourke was going to be playing Whiplash I was extremely excited. And I got nothing out of it--his character really seems to take a back seat throughout the film-he's a great actor-Whiplash had the potential of being a…
