Solid conclusion to one of the most epic sagas in film history.
Jabba's Palace sequence is one of my favorites of the series.
The Death Star run looks amazing. A lot of thrilling sequences in this film including the speeder chase on the forest moon of Endor.
Ford, Hamill and Fischer are great and are given a lot here to work with. A lot of conflict and the resolutions at the end are satisfying. Luke's especially. Can he kill his own father? Is he strong enough with the Force to resist the Dark Side? This is played out so well with Luke giving in to his hate and almost destroying Vader but realizes just at the right moment that he would suffer the same fate as Vader if he strikes the final blow.
Vader is a little bit of a disappointment after being one of the greatest villains in history in Episode V. He works well at the end but it just isn't enough and when you look at the entire series, it kind of doesn't make sense as to why he takes such a back seat in this film til the very end. He does bring balance to the Force by killing the Emperor in the end and taking off his helmet to see Luke with his own eyes is very powerful.
Ian McDiarmid is awesome as the Emperor. The final showdown between him, Vader and Luke makes the entire series worth while.
The droids are hilarious in the beginning of the film. True joyful entertainment.
I really enjoy the Ewoks. Always have. And I think it's a great statement that such a primitive species defeats the Clones (yes Clones!) on Endor.
Negatives-Obi-Wan's speech to Luke is lame. The Emperor and Vader's scenes are a little repetitive. Even the Emperor seems annoyed by it..."He'll come to you then you'll bring him to me okay? How many times do I have to say it?" :)
Again, great finish to the series. Brings out the adventurous kid in me every time I see it.
