This definitely isn't the somewhat-above-average sports movie I was expecting to see (and probably wouldn't have dug nearly as much). If anything, it's a gripping character portrait of two distinctively different brothers fighting the obstacles of money, loyalty and their broken family's past.
With terrific performances (especially by Nolte) and great emotional density, this film literally got me to the edge of my seat.
