Somehow this was even more perfect than what I had anticipated.

All jokes aside, though: I haven't felt that well-entertained in quite some time.

Holy fucking fuck. Alfonso Cuarón did it again, and better than I ever could've expected. And my expectations already were about as high as the movie's setting (space, that is, 'cause I'm super funny).
This genuinely blew me away on so many levels I don't even know.

Well, after 4 months, what can I say? Still loving it. Still can't see why people would call it a mishap or even a disaster.
It still is every bit as amazing, intriguing and genuinely superbly shot as I thought it was the first time I watched it.
Can't wait to see that titan of a making-of.

I have to admit, it wasn't wholly consequent throughout. But oh... Ridley Scott just damn sure knows how to make me love his films.

I simply don't get how this would be described as something hollow, cold and superficially shiny. Sure, opinion's a thing, but still...
This pretty much stays as close to the (as I think, amazing) novel as possible, while putting all of its presentational content on an even grander, more epic scale and losing nothing of the original's sense of intricate, character-driven drama and American allegory.
