This film was fine. Better than fine, but not great. Dull, functional descriptors like well-paced, faithful and (shudder) competent come to mind.
Book-to-film adaptations are rife with deviations from plot, missing characters, conveniences taken... none of this bothers me -- especially when I can feel the logistical restraints of a movie already bursting at the seams.
