Ranked: Walter Hill (Director)

  • Nice to see Extreme Prejudice so high! Didn't think Trespass was as far down the list. And Supernova wasn't directed by Hill, was it? I thought he was only an exec producer and/or writer...

  • Extreme Prejudice is f'ing awesome!

Walter Hill directed most of Supernova, but is credited as 'Thomas Lee' (the new 'Alan Smithee'). Apparently it was finished (or re-edited) by Jack Sholder and Francis Ford Coppola!

  • I knew it had been handed over, like Alien 3, but didn't know Hill had been involved as director. I actually quite like it, but then I am a sucker for Sci-fi!

  • I bloody love Walter Hill. I would have no idea how to rank a list of his work, though, he's done so many that I really like. I think The Driver would probably top the list. Maybe.

  • Excellent list. Love Walter Hill. My favourites of his are The Warriors and Red Heat.

  • I think Walter Hill is a very underrated director.
Malick could only dream of making films this enjoyable. :-)
    Good list Richard!

  • Thanks! Walter Hill is indeed very underrated and underappreciated. He made some damn good films back in the day. I can't wait to check out his latest; Bullet to the Head.

  • Great list. I do think Johnny Handsome is quite underrated.
