Top 28: Year of Birth, 1985

28 of my favorite films from 1985, the year I was born. Why 28, you ask? Because I'll be 28 years old this year (and I would have a very hard time cutting it down to my usual 13).

Honorable Mentions:

Witness, Mask, Runaway Train, Silverado, Revolution, The Color Purple, The Boys Next Door, Pee-wee's Big Adventure, My Lucky Stars, Twinkle, Twinkle, Lucky Stars, Danger Has Two Faces, Disciples of the 36th Chamber, Mismatched Couples, Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, Code of Silence, The Last Dragon, Death Wish 3, A View to a Kill, Fright Night, Cocoon, Crimewave, Invasion U.S.A., Cut and Run, The Mutilator, Krush Groove, and Crazy Boy.

So Horrible It's Awesome:

  • 1985 was a great year for film, I think I'd be hard up choosing this many great films from 1983... I'll no doubt give it a go, though!

  • Indeed it was. I'm looking forward to seeing what films you come up with for your list. My wife was also born in '83 and she made a list herself a while ago with quite a few good (and probably some bad :-P) films.

  • Interesting idea, this! I was born in the year of Top Gun, and I really can't stand that film.

  • Born June 21st 1985 here ... Solid list, but I'd put some of you honorable mentions on my 1985 list.

A VIEW TO A KILL is a very underrated Bond flick ... and you forgot POLICE ACADEMY 2: THEIR FIRST ASSIGNMENT ... solid sequel and good addition to the "POLICE" series.

BACK TO THE FUTURE would be my #1.

  • That's an insane year to be born. FB Part II, Commando, Rocky IV, Back To The Future and Return of the Living Dead. I'm stealing this idea btw. Immediately :D

  • I'm looking forward to checking out your list, Robin.
