Superheros that made their first appearance in film or non-comic book literature.
Looks horrible, but Stan Lee's Lightspeed might apply? Also Defendor?
Return of Captain Invincible? Orgazmo?
All added, but also up for debate. Wondering if I should add Might Morphin Power Rangers. I don't want to. And they originated on TV so it wouldn't count anyway, right?
Zoom (2006) did NOT originate on film. It was originally a children's book called "Amazing Adventures from Zoom's Academy" by Jason Lethcoe.
I really like this list. It should be expanded.
Is Darkman really a superhero movie. His name ends in 'man', but I think it's more like a revenge movie.
It IS a revenge film, but also a superhero film. If Batman can be considered a superhero film, so can Darkman.
Shawn, how should it be expanded? Any more additional titles I may have missed?
Here are a few that I thought of: Robocop (and its sequels), Megamind, Super Capers, Superhero Movie (although I'm not sure if you want to include this because its plot is largely based on Spider-Man, which did originate in comics), and Mosaic and The Condor (these last two are straight-to-DVD animated films of new characters created by Stan Lee).
Do supervillains count? In that case you might add Despicable me and Megamind. You should definately check out Big Man Japan and Zebraman. There's a couple more obscure ones on my own superheroes list that I havent seen myself. letterboxd.com/ghettominibar/list/superheroes-are-super
The Matrix, one of the best superhero origin movies.

Would Push count? Those guys had powers.
