The best film of 2008. Dark, suspenseful, imaginative, haunting--these are not words generally used to describe a super hero film. But The Dark Knight is the best super hero film made to date. Ledger's performance as the Joker will be remembered for many years to come with its unique and disturbing power. If you replaced Batman with a regular police detective this film would probably still work--that's how great it is.
