John Gholson’s review:
Dead-on-arrival spookshow about a girl trapped in a lakehouse ends up not being defined by its own gimmick (it's constructed as one continual take), but by its bullsh!t ending. But before we get to that ending, the movie has already worn out its welcome with an hour's worth of tired door-slam scares and the one-note, hyperventilating panic of lead Elizabeth Olsen.
Well, damn. That's disappointing. I watched the original recently and didn't like it, but I was hoping with Elizabeth Olsen, this one might not be half-bad. Oh well.
With you on this one.
