It's quite preposterous at times and the big twist half an hour before the end is almost too much of a stretch to bare but I can't deny that the whole thing is thoroughly entertaining. If you're a sucker for korean revenge thrillers you're guaranteed to have a good time.

More or less formulatic horror though slightly above average thanks to a good performance by Jessica Chastain and good direction by first timer Andrés Muschietti. Other than hat it's nothing special and not at all scary with some cheap shock moments. It kept me entertained for most of its runtime but the ending could have been a little more satisfying.

I prefer the swedish version. And I prefer Noomi Rapace over Rooney Mara
