Not Another Teen Movie mostly hits the nail on the head in terms of pointing out most of the silly, common archetypes and blemishes of "teen movies". However, it doesn't do it in a particularly sharp or laughable way. Besides the occasional laugh at an unexpected joke or a funny setup, it's mostly a dull trudge through predictable gags.

Captain America: The First Avenger is an average action flick with everything you would look for in one: explosions, fun fights, a drop-dead gorgeous love interest, great one-liners, and a protagonist you can get behind. The personally endearing 1940s American aesthetic gives this movie an edge over other action movies in the same league. Although it's not nearly as good as the Captain America brand could be, it's a serviceable action movie with a pretty face.

Moonrise Kingdom is delightfully detailed. I love Murray and McDormand's neverending lawyer talk, I love Suzy reading to the scouts like Wendy from Peter Pan, and I love Sam and Suzy dancing. The details make this film stand out among giant films fueled with cash and hype as an absolutely charming experience crafted with skill and care. Moonrise Kingdom has surpassed Life Aquatic as my favorite Wes Anderson movie, and is definitely my favorite movie of the year so far (and I don't see anything topping it for the remainder).

Submarine is a wonderfully written, well-shot film with great performances all-around. It's gloriously unpretentious and Ol's dramatic nature is so lovable.
