Sam Powell’s review:
Fracture pits Anthony Hopkins up against bright, young and confident lawyer Ryan Gosling in a crime drama that focuses heavily on the court room.
As a genius turned menace, Hopkins reignites many aspect of his legendary role of Dr Hannibal Lecter. Though not as vulgar, he is as sinister and cunning in manner. Soon turning the court room into a circus the prosecutor, Gosling, for the first time finds himself with a real challenge. Yet his arrogant nature hinders his case and rapidly self-representing Hopkins discovers the upper hand.
Though not entirely original, nor the intellectual puzzle it attempts to be. Fracture is still a highly enjoyable film boosted immensely by the two terrific lead actors.
