Harlequin’s review:
While the story itself is a little 'whatever', and the acting pretty bad on some parts, there is some good ideas behind it.
It's very slow in the beginning, and the whole story it builds up with, ends up being less important for the whole plot. Nice spending an hour watching something build and build, to then just let go of it all. Not that the build-up story is any good anyway, but still, sitting with a feeling that I watched two halfs of two different films, isn't something I enjoy... much. Not that the first half is that impressive anyway: pale haunted ghost children, killing people for no apparent reason. Hmm, where have I seen that before?
It turns a lot more interesting towards the end, but then, unfortunately.. ends.
I thought its main problem was that the lead actress (can't remember her name now) was awful. There were some good ideas in it but it mostly felt like they trying to do an Asian horror film like Ring or something except in Spain. I agree that the ending was the best part, though.
I think it took place in Mexico, but I get your point :P
And yes, you're right about everything.
I'm English and therefore completely ignorant of other nationalities!
Ah right, that explains a thing or three!
