The Blue Dahlia 1946 ★★★★

"Tamed by a brunette - Framed by a blonde - Blamed by the cops", runs the tagline to this Raymond Chandler penned classic film noir. Returning home from the war, Alan Ladd finds his wife kissing the owner of the Blue Dahlia nightclub. Hurt and angry, he wanders off into the night. His wife found murdered the next day, he is the prime suspect and must work hard to clear his name and find the actual murderer. The genre is showcased to almost complete perfection with this tale of murder, deception, sex and crime. Veronica Lake is the iconic femme fatale she became famous for in the 40s with an agenda of her own.
